 The Foundation's journey began with a simple yet profound idea - to empower educators, inspire students, and enrich the Forney ISD experience. Two decades ago, George Brown asked a group of visionary leaders to come together with a shared belief in the power of education. They understood that investing in the future of their community meant investing in the education of its children. It was all “for the kids”. 

 Promoting innovation in teaching has been another key focus of the Foundation. They recognize that the world of education is ever-evolving, and to prepare students for the future, educators must have access to the latest tools and teaching methods. Through the teaching grant program, the Foundation has fostered a culture of innovation within Forney ISD, ensuring that teachers have the resources they need to inspire the next generation of leaders. Over $1 million has been awarded to teachers to date. 

 As the Forney Education Foundation enters its third decade, its mission remains as relevant as ever. Education is a journey, and the Foundation is committed to walking that path alongside the students, educators, and community members of Forney ISD. With a renewed sense of purpose, they will continue to provide opportunities for excellence, promote innovation, and foster community partnership.

In celebrating 20 years of service to Forney ISD, the Forney Education Foundation reminds us that when a community comes together to invest in education, the possibilities are limitless. The next 20 years hold the promise of even greater achievements, as the Foundation continues to make a profound difference in the lives of those it serves.
