In the heart of Texas, the Forney Independent School District (Forney ISD) has been a cornerstone of educational excellence for decades. For the past two decades, the Forney Education Foundation has been an unwavering force in supporting this district's mission, leaving an indelible mark on its students and the community as a whole.
Established in 2003 and formalized in 2004, the Forney Education Foundation has reached a significant milestone - its 20th anniversary. Over the years, this organization has tirelessly worked to fulfill its mission: to provide opportunities for excellence in education, promote innovation in teaching, and partner with the community to enhance the quality of education for all students.
The Foundation's journey began with a simple yet profound idea - to empower educators, inspire students, and enrich the Forney ISD experience. Two decades ago, George Brown asked a group of visionary leaders to come together with a shared belief in the power of education. They understood that investing in the future of their community meant investing in the education of its children. It was all “for the kids”.
At its core, the Forney Education Foundation is dedicated to providing opportunities for excellence in education. Through the years the Foundation has provided scholarships, grants, and various initiatives that have empowered students to dream bigger, achieve more, and reach their full potential.
Promoting innovation in teaching has been another key focus of the Foundation. They recognize that the world of education is ever-evolving, and to prepare students for the future, educators must have access to the latest tools and teaching methods. Through the teaching grant program, the Foundation has fostered a culture of innovation within Forney ISD, ensuring that teachers have the resources they need to inspire the next generation of leaders. Over $1 million has been awarded to teachers to date.
As the Forney Education Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary, it's important to reflect on the incredible impact it has had on the Forney ISD community. Thousands of students have received scholarships, hundreds of innovative teaching projects have been funded, and countless community members have joined hands to support education. The Foundation is now impacting over 13,000 students and teachers each year.
The Foundation's legacy is not just measured in numbers but in the lives it has touched. Graduates who went on to achieve their dreams, educators who found new ways to inspire, and a community that stands stronger because of its commitment to education - these are the true markers of success.
As the Forney Education Foundation enters its third decade, its mission remains as relevant as ever. Education is a journey, and the Foundation is committed to walking that path alongside the students, educators, and community members of Forney ISD. With a renewed sense of purpose, they will continue to provide opportunities for excellence, promote innovation, and foster community partnership.
In celebrating 20 years of service to Forney ISD, the Forney Education Foundation reminds us that when a community comes together to invest in education, the possibilities are limitless. The next 20 years hold the promise of even greater achievements, as the Foundation continues to make a profound difference in the lives of those it serves.
Here's to two decades of unwavering dedication, and to the bright future that lies ahead for the Forney Education Foundation and the Forney Independent School District.
Join us in celebrating our 20th anniversary and leave a legacy that will be remembered for years to come!
